Fall 2013.  Farmers Market in Downtown Mountain View, California.  Fresh fruits and vegetables all year round.   Things are fresher and better quality than  the supermarkets, not to mention most of the stuff  can not even be found in any supermarkets.

We just came back from 2 week trip to Beijing. It was hot, humid, crowed, polluted, but it was great trip :)    Thanks to the ever improving subway system, it was fairly easy to get around the city and very cheap.

We visited all the usual places, the zoo, Summer Palace, Bei Hai , Great Wall,  Tian Tan, Forbidden City etc, but the best place we visited was Long Qing Xia (龙庆峡).   We took S2 line train  to Yan Qing (延庆) and then took a private taxi to Long Qing Xia. The trip took about 1 hour and 30 minutes.  The same S2 train will take you to the Great Wall at Ba Da Ling (八大岭).

Long Qing  Xia was so different and unexpected after you stayed in Beijing for a while.  It’s sky is clear, it’s cooler and it looks pristine.  And looking at the picture I took there, you will also notice something else is missing –  the crowds and crowds of people you will see at other parks.   Here it’s almost  deserted.   It was great place to spend a day,  if you ever visit Beijing, don’t miss this place.

American Lemans series cars are visiting Laguna Seca race track again this year.  As a reward to Jensen being a good boy for practicing piano for the last year :), I brought him to the race track.  We learned our lesson from last year, bring the ear plug!   The cars are so unbelievable loud, my ear drum hurts when siting next to the track .

LOL. Probably setup as a joke from the beginning, but funny none the less. Another good one is “Good good study, day day up”

Our hotel is called Radegast (伯豪瑞廷) . It opened just before the Olympics, so it’s basically brand new. So far so good, all the staff are very friendly and the facilities are first rate. Some notable feature in the roomes are LCD TVs, one in the room as usual, but what’s unusual was that there is a 2nd one in the bath room. Very interesting. Another cool feature is the motorized blind control. Jensen got a kick out of that. The location of the hotel is also great, in the Central Business District, just east of the new CCTV station, and not to far to some good clean restaurants.
